Moca Cream limestone project: Central Bank of Kuwait

The Central Bank of Kuwait is a reference project in Kuwait and the Middle East and perhaps the most relevant project supplied with Portuguese Moca Cream limestone all over the world.

The Central Bank of Kuwait is a mega project located in Kuwait, done by China State Construction Engineering Corporation in partnership with several sub-contractors. The building area includes 75,000m² of office space and a 65,000m² multi-level car parking facility, and has already become a landmark in Kuwait.

This project involved the supply a huge amount of Moca Cream limestone from Portugal, that covered most of its exterior cladding application, as well as several specific applications like compound wall, main entrance, bank logo and much more. The exterior cladding panels were supplied in 40mm thickness, sourced from different Moca Cream quarries in Portugal.

The Central Bank of Kuwait was designed by well-known architectural office HOK. This is perhaps the single project that has used the largest amount of Moca Cream limestone in the world. It is a fantastic reference for the beige limestone from Portugal but also a beautiful project to be admired.
